I think we can all breath a sigh of relief, after it was announced Quentin Tarantino will finally be shooting his Western film, THE HATEFUL EIGHT, and it’s been confirmed directly by the great director himself this weekend at SDCC 2014. On the Panel for Django Vs Zorro sequel comic, he was asked the relevant question and replied with the truth:
“Yeah – We’re going to be doing The Hateful Eight.’
It seems like a lifetime since the controversy in January this year over the script being leaked on the internet, and it seems Tarantino has waved off his disputes, ready to move on and do what his career has been leading up to. The director has commented that he has “calmed down” over the situation after losing his fight in court against the website he accused of leaking his script. Bruce Dern, Samuel L. Jackson and Michael Madsen have been confirmed for roles in the film, which is about bounty hunters who try to find shelter during a blizzard but get involved in a plot of betrayal and deception.
Here’s the official synopsis:
The Hateful Eight follows the steadily ratcheting tension that develops after a blizzard diverts a stagecoach from its route, and traps a pitiless and mistrustful group which includes a competing pair of bounty hunters, a renegade Confederate soldier, and a female prisoner in a saloon in the middle of nowhere.
