You’ve got to love an fun-looking indie project, and A BIRDER’S GUIDE TO EVERYTHING is firmly in that vein and we’ve got the trailer here for the film released on DVD & VOD on 19th May 2014, courtesy of Solo Media.
They’re describing it as ‘Sideways meets Stand by Me‘ and it’s the classic tale of endearing friendship and family. You’ve got to admit that not many films delve into the world of bird-watching but here’s the official synopsis with an impressive cast that includes Sir Ben Kingsley, James LeGros, Kodi Smit-McPhee and Katie Chang.
On the eve of his widower father’s second wedding, fifteen-year-old birding fanatic David Portnoy (Kodi Smit-McPhee) thinks that he’s made the discovery of a lifetime, the extinct Labrador duck! Now he and the two other stalwart members of the local Young Birders Society, joined by their headstrong photographer classmate Ellen (Katie Chang), take off on an epic road trip in search of the rare bird and elusive answers to teenage questions large and small.
This is the feature debut for Rob Meyer who’s bringing us a coming-of-age tale to hopefully warm the hearts of anyone who grew up with a nerdy passion, here’s the poster and below the trailer:
