‘Magic Mike XXL’ Secures Summer Release

Magic MikeThe brilliant and hilarious stripper comedy MAGIC MIKE, which sadly included no actual magic, was a bit of surprise hit when it first arrived in 2012. A sequel was quickly announced and now we have confirmation of the exact release date. The aptly titled MAGIC MIKE XXL will get people hot under the collar from 3rd July 2015. It’s a prime summer spot, especially in the US where they’ll be celebrating Independence Day the very next day, and what better way to celebrate?

The original film was directed by Steven Soderbergh whereas the sequel will promote the first assistant director of MAGIC MIKE, Gregory Jacobs, to the director’s chair. Channing Tatum is set to return, but there’s still no word on other cast members such as Matthew McConaughey. Tatum will also be contributing to the writing process, which is understandable as he used to work as a male stripper. Regarding the plot, all we know so far is that it will be a road movie of sorts.
