‘Kill Your Darlings’ Director John Krokidas Makes A Double Deal With Fox

Los Angeles Premiere of 'Kill Your Darlings'

The writer/director if the acclaimed ‘Beat Movement’ biopic KILL YOUR DARLINGS has signed a deal 20th Century Fox to helm a couple of new projects.

John Krokidas will direct STANDARD LONELINESS PACKAGE, which is based the short story collection ‘Sorry Please Thank You’ from Charles Yu. The film is currently being penned by Keith Bunin with indie studio Temple Hill Entertainment’s Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen producing. It’s a story set in the near future, where “a recent college graduate gets an entry-level job at a tech company where he’s paid to experience painful events in other people’s lives. He falls desperately in love with his boss, and tries to build a genuine relationship in a society that’s becoming entirely virtual and where he essentially serves as a human pain cushion.”

Krokidas has also signed a deal with Fox 2000’s team to collaborate with writing partner Austin Bunn on HIGHRISE. The duo will rewrite a previous draft by FLIGHT PLAN’s Peter Dowling with the project described as a lush 21st century thriller inspired by the 1965s classic THE COLLECTOR which starred Terrence Stamp and based was on the novel by John Fowles.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
