No franchise is safe from TT Games’ adorable and hilarious LEGO video games. Starting back in 2005 with LEGO STAR WARS, the brick-smashing, stud-collecting, puzzle-solving gameplay has been applied to such beloved franchises as INDIANA JONES, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN and THE LORD OF THE RINGS. Last year TT Games released LEGO BATMAN 2: DC SUPER HEROES, featuring an all-star cast of the Justice League’s finest. Now, inevitably, it is Marvel’s turn.
TT Games’ LEGO MARVEL SUPER HEROES will be released by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment on 22nd October in the US and 15th November in the UK, on pretty much every current gaming platform (PC, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, Wii U, PS3, PS Vita, Xbox 360). Next-generation Xbox One and PS4 versions are set to arrive on 15th November in the US and 29th November in the UK. A new poster has been released for the game, depicting the famous faces from AVENGERS ASSEMBLE as well as Spider-Man, X-MEN’s Storm, FANTASTIC 4’s Human Torch and the fourth-wall-breaking fan-favourite Deadpool.
In the game, players will be able to control a whopping 150 Marvel characters, including lesser-known heroes such as British comic legends Captain Britain and Union Jack. In a wonderfully silly plot, Doctor Doom attempts to create something called the ‘Doom Ray of Doom’ from cosmic bricks. As expected, S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Nick Fury responds by gathering together as many souped-up individuals as possible to fight against Doom and his iconic allies Loki and Magneto.
Despite being primarily aimed at a younger audience, the LEGO games have always been a treat for franchise fans of all ages. If you love all things Marvel, it is your duty to planet Earth to pick up a copy.
