As we approach the end of September and the nights draw in its time for us to admit that summer is over. But worry not with the new season comes more films to look forwards to. Earlier this week THN were invited to an exclusive FDA movie preview event held at Yahoo HQ and hosted by Alex Zane, with an evening that talked through the key releases between October and December.

The key blockbuster releases include THOR: THE DARK WORLD, THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE, and Disney’s FROZEN.

Benedict Cumberbatch fans will also be pleased to know that there are three new releases from the star to look forwards to; THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG, AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY and THE FIFTH ESTATE.

Autumn tends to be the season where indie films shine with the highly anticipated GRAVITY expected to perform admirably at the box office. Award season is also just around the corner and this years hot contenders feature Tom Hank’s pirate hostage drama CAPTAIN PHILLIPS, and the star-studded THE COUNSELLOR.

British comedians James Cordon and Harry Hill both have movies due out. Cordon is set to star in ONE CHANCE, a film about Britain’s Got Talent winner Paul Potts whilst Hill will be playing himself in the imaginatively titled THE HARRY HILL MOVIE.

OLDBOY is getting the remake treatment, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan will get a new face in JACK RYAN: SHADOW ONE and Will Ferrell and his motley crew will be returning with ANCHORMAN 2: THE LEGEND CONTINUES.

The evening concluded with the release of a ‘sizzle’ trailer which features footage from many of the films mentioned as well as a few more. This trailer is set to feature at various cinemas but you can beat the crowds and see it here first:
