Elijah Wood, Daniel Noah and Josh C Waller are set to produce BAD VIBES through their company SpectreVision. The film is a werewolf tale set in the psychedelic 60s music scene. John Landis, no stranger to the werewolf-themed film, has come aboard as an executive producer. ZOMBIE HONEYMOON’s Dave Gebroe will direct the film. Landis said:
“Based on the impressive slate of genre films that Elijah Wood and SpectreVision are producing, I am very excited that Dave Gebroe’s clever and scary Bad Vibes has found the perfect home.”
BAD VIBES is set in the psychedelic era of the late 1960s, where the band Sunrise Majesty is at the top of the charts with their message of free love for all. But, after an encounter with an odd groupie, their leader Max Cassidy is left with the unique but uncurable gift of becoming a werewolf. As was normal for the 60s, the band hold a ‘love-in’ at their ranch, where the members and fans become infected, unless Cynthia, Max’s girlfriend, and the last untouched member of the band, can stop them infecting their ‘disease’.
Avant-Garde rock musician Ariel Pink will compose original the music for BAD VIBES. This will be his first adventure into the world of film. He said:
“The script totally blew me away with its horrifying revisionist take on the Sixties. It’s like a bizarro-world chronology of free love, dark psychedelic music and permissiveness gone hog-wild. My fans will get to hear a side of Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti that no one’s ever heard before, and that couldn’t be more inspiring to me creatively.”
