We’ve already previewed an extended clip originally shown at Comic Con, as well as a second from the creature-filled TWILIGHT-like supernatural fantasy THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES. Now we’ve another look at the film directed by Howard Zwart and based on the best-selling novel series by Cassandra Clare. The lovely Lily Collins leads as Clary Fray, a teenager who discovers she’s a part of a demon-seeking clan of half human/half angel warriors known as Shadowhunters.
Set in contemporary New York City, a seemingly ordinary teenager, Clary Fray (Lily Collins), discovers she is the descendant of a line of Shadowhunters, a secret cadre of young half-angel warriors locked in an ancient battle to protect our world from demons. After the disappearance of her mother (Lena Headey), Clary must join forces with a group of Shadowhunters, who introduce her to a dangerous alternate New York called Downworld, filled with demons, warlocks, vampires, werewolves and other deadly creatures. Based on the worldwide best-selling book series.
THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES co-stars Jamie Campbell-Bower, Lena Headey, Robert Sheehan, Kevin Zegers, Kevin Durand, Aidan Turner, Jemima West, Godfrey Gao, CCH Pounder, Jared Harris and Jonathan Rhys Meyers. It arrives in US and UK cinemas 21st August.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
