Well, with Superman taking over the global box-office following his arrival in Zack Snyder’s acclaimed reboot MAN OF STEEL (in a haul of $200 million-plus), most fans are already wanting more adventures from super-powered hunk Henry Cavill’s Kal-El. Having caught the film at the European premiere on Wednesday (you can read my report here), it’s easy to see why, although I myself was hoping for a 5 star affair I’d have to agree with our very own supreme leader Paul Heath in his solid 4-star review.
While we knew Warner Bros. had tapped Snyder and screenwriter David S. Goyer to re-team to bring us more high-flying Metropolis mayhem involving the last son of Krypton, we expected it will be a couple of years before they’d get the project off the ground. However, faster than a speeding bullet (okay, maybe not that fast), the studio are fast-tracking the follow-up to shoot early next year and possibly have it completed and ready for release late 2014.
That’s right, Warner Bros. will attempt to bring us a MAN OF STEEL sequel next year! We’ll keep you informed as an official announcement is expected at next months San Diego Comic-Con, which THN will be right in the mix and covering stateside!

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.

Hmmmmm. could be good or bad. If they have the right story ready, it shouldn’t be hard to get it moving. I really would like to see Braniac in the next movie. He is long overdue in a Superman movie.

As long as they do not rush things, I am fine with this. If it’s as good as this one (hopefully a bit better as sequels SHOULD be) I am totally on board.
