We wanted to share the trailer with you for Noah Baumbach and Greta Gerwig’s FRANCES HA. This is a bit of twist on the usual girl-finding-herself narrative with hints of a nice touch of reality and honesty, albeit, in an ironic and possibly slightly dramatised way.
Saying that, I’m a big fan of the indie scene and I like the look of this. It’s already done a bit of a run across the film festivals since later last year and now it’s heading for the theatrical release on July 26th in the UK. The film follows the life of Frances (Greta Gerwig), a woman from New York who doesn’t have anywhere really to live who apprentices for a dance company (though she’s not really a dancer), and then she throws herself headlong into her dreams, even as their possible reality dwindles.
It looks quirky, interesting but most importantly – something different. Scroll down for a few images and here’s the trailer:
Dan loves writing, film, music and photography. Originally from Devon, he did London for 4 years and now resides in Exeter. He also has a mild obsession with squirrels and cake. The latter being more of a hobby. Favourite movies include HIGH FIDELITY, ALMOST FAMOUS, ROXANNE, GOOD WILL HUNTING, JURASSIC PARK, too many Steve Martin films and Nolan's BATMAN universe.
