Roland Emmerich will soon set about destroying ‘that’ world renowned landmark in remake of the recent Gerard Butler actioner OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN. Well, maybe we’re being a touch unfair but WHITE HOUSE DOWN could certainly see cinemagoers thinking, ‘Haven’t we seen this all before?’, as we follow off-duty cop John Cale, (Channing Tatum) who, while on a tour of the iconic address with his daughter, must save the President (Jamie Foxx) when attackers in the form of a gun-toting mercenaries decide to invade!
The official plot synopsis is as follows:
In Columbia Pictures’ White House Down, Capitol Policeman John Cale (Channing Tatum) has just been denied his dream job with the Secret Service of protecting President James Sawyer (Jamie Foxx). Not wanting to let down his little girl with the news, he takes her on a tour of the White House, when the complex is overtaken by a heavily armed paramilitary group. Now, with the nation’s government falling into chaos and time running out, it’s up to Cale to save the president, his daughter, and the country.

The film also co-stars Maggie Gyllenhaal, James Woods, Richard Jenkins, Joey King, Jake Weber, Lance Reddick, and Jason Clarke. It explodes in US cinemas 28th June and the UK 6th September.
