Possible Casting For ‘Fantastic Four’ & ‘Black Panther’

Marvel CastingThere are two  big rumours circulating the interweb at this very moment, and both concern possible casting in adaptations of Marvel comics. First up is yet another contender for the role of BLACK PANTHER. The character has yet to be confirmed as part of Marvel’s Phase 3, but it is certainly one of the most mentioned posssibilities. Chadwick Boseman, who has just made a star turn stateside in baseball pic 42, has been suggested as one of the actors contending for the role. This would make sense to me, as he has just had one big hit, but wont be commanding a huge salary just yet. Recently, Morris Chestnut Tweeted a BLACK PANTHER comic book cover, which many took to mean he was a lock-in for the role, but we all know how things change. At the moment it seems as though any black actor, minus Don Cheadle, Samuel L. Jackson and Anthony Mackie, is being rumoured.

Another piece of possible casting is aimed at Fox’s reboot of THE FANTASTIC FOUR, directed by CHRONICLE director Josh Trank. CHRONICLE’s Michael B. Jordan is rumoured (using that word a lot here) to be in the running for the part of Johnny Storm. Allison Williams has already been rumoured as a possible Sue Storm, so it seems as though we’ll be getting some official casting news soon. After his performance in CHRONICLE, I think Jordan would make a fine Johnny Storm and would be able to capture the essence of the character, as well as being very different to Chris Evans’ interpretation.

THE FANTASTIC FOUR is scheduled for 6th March 2015.
