Eran Creevy’s WELCOME TO THE PUNCH opens in the UK next week and we’ve got an early sneak peek into the title sequence created by the talented Richard Morrison. It’s not every day that you get to see the titles before the film is out, but having seen the movie, I can promise won’t spoil anything but certainly plays a massive part in setting the tone and style for an amazing opening sequence.
WELCOME TO THE PUNCH stars James McAvoy, Mark Strong, Peter Mullan, Andrea Riseborough and David Morrissey and follows ex-criminal Jacob Sternwood (Strong) as he’s forced to come back to London when his son gets into deep trouble. This gives his nemesis, detective Max Lewinsky (McAvoy), one last chance to catch the man he’s been chasing for his whole career. It’s a smart and stylish thriller and you can read our full review here. If you like this opening sequence as well, we also recommend checking out our previous feature on Richard Morrison who’s been behind some of the most iconic opening film sequences in the last 20 years or so, including BATMAN, EVENT HORIZON, QUADROPHENIA and SWEENEY TODD among others. Here’s that opening sequence, do let us know what you think!
