Horror fans rejoice as writer/director Sam Raimi has announced he and brother Ivan will begin work on the script for EVIL DEAD 4 this summer.
Raimi has always wanted to unleash the demonic deadites of the Necromincon with the legend that is ‘Groovy’ Bruce Campbell, returning as Ash. He’s been rather busy with a certain superhero over the last decade since the release of the last franchise cult-classic, ARMY OF DARKNESS. Yet it all seemed to be over following the production of Fede Alvarez’ upcoming reboot of the intense original gorefest. However, we wondered why the role of ‘Ash’ wasn’t included in the new update but it appears Raimi and Campbell (who co-produce Alvarez’ effort) we’re always planning to make a return themselves.
Here’s what Raimi, while promoting fantasy epic OZ THE GREAT & POWERFUL, had to offer when asked about the potential sequel:
I would love to make EVIL DEAD 4. My brother and I plan to work on the script this summer.
Would you be happy to see another EVIL DEAD will Raimi in charge? Let us know your thoughts.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
