Seth Grahame-Smith is probably best known for his novels ABRAHAM LINCOLN VAMPIRE HUNTER and PRIDE & PREJUDICE & ZOMBIES. However, last year saw him taking on the role of scriptwriter for an adaptation of his book ABRAHAM LINCOLN VAMPIRE HUNTER as well as tackling the Tim Burton mess that was DARK SHADOWS. He will now be looking to enter the world of superheroes for the reboot of THE FANTASTIC FOUR. FANTASTIC FOUR originally hit the screen in 2005 with a sequel following in 2007. Neither was met with critical acclaim, and even though I enjoyed them, they were certainly being replaced by bigger and more serious comic-book films.
The reboot has already attracted some huge talent, with Josh Trank, the man behind found footage superhero film CHRONICLE coming on board to direct, and Matthew Vaughan, the director of X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, taking on producing duties. The film is reportedly going to be more ‘grounded’ which seems to be one of those buzz words Hollywood is just throwing around at the moment to make us think of CASINO ROYALE and THE DARK KNIGHT. Personally I like some of my superhero stuff to be daft and silly.
THE FANTASTIC FOUR is set for release 6th March 2015.
