French megastar Juliette Binoche is in discussions to tackle the big, green, building destroying machine known as GODZILLA. The American adaptation of the classic Japanese monster series is being directed by MONSTERS director Gareth Edwards and may star Bryan Cranston, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Elizabeth Olsen. There are no details on what role Binoche will be playing, but I’m going to guess scientist. There’s always a scientist. This isn’t the first time Binoche has been considered to take on some terrible lizards, as she was the first choice for the role of Ellie Sattler in JURASSIC PARK, a role that eventually went to Laura Dern. If this is the kind of acting talent that is being assembled, then I’m all for GODZILLA returning stateside.
Gareth Edwards’ GODZILLA returns to screens on 16th May 2014.
