Here’s the bulging new TV spot for Michael Bay’s ‘small’ movie, PAIN & GAIN.
It stars Dwayne Johnson and Mark Wahlberg as bungling bodybuilders with biceps the size of Bournemouth who indulge in a spot of kidnapping and grand larceny. We at THN Towers can’t decide whether this looks like pop-corny fun like THE ROCK (pun intended) or utter UTTER robo-balls like TRANSFORMERS. It certainly has Bay’s signature tropes; muscle-bound heroes, aviators, explosions, helicopters, casual objectification of women, the usual boys-with-toys stuff. PAIN & GAIN is directed by Michael Bay and stars Dwayne Johnson, Mark Wahlberg, Ed Harris, Tony Shalhoub, Anthony Mackie and Rebel Wilson. It will be grunting it’s way into UK cinemas on 3rd May and US cinemas 26th April. This is a true story.

John is a gentleman, a scholar, he’s an acrobat. He is one half of the comedy duo Good Ol’ JR, and considers himself a comedy writer/performer. This view has been questioned by others. He graduated with First Class Honours in Media Arts/Film & TV, a fact he will remain smug about long after everyone has stopped caring. He enjoys movies, theatre, live comedy and writing with the JR member and hetero life partner Ryan. Some of their sketches can be seen on YouTube and YOU can take their total hits to way over 17!
