While the title of this piece does wonders for the male imagination, it’s sadly all about who comes out on top *raised eyebrow* for the coveted role in the Kenneth Branagh-directed JACK RYAN. Keira Knightly, Felicty Jones and Evangeline Lilly are all currently in the running to star opposite new lead Chris Pine, in a reboot of Tom Clancy’s heroic ex-marine-turned-C.I.A. analyst.
Sticking with the title taken from the lead character shows that Paramount are serious in making this an ongoing franchise. The character featured prominently in the terrific THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER (played by Alec Baldwin) and PATRIOT GAMES (Harrison Ford’s first outing). However, both CLEAR & PRESENT DANGER (Ford again) and THE SUM OF ALL FEARS (with Ben Affleck) didn’t work out so well.
So which beauty would you pick to join Pine in the action-thriller (that will also see Branagh as the main villain)? Send us your thoughts, just not those impure ones!

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
