On set footage from the upcoming adaptation of WORLD WAR Z has made its way online and it looks crazy. It appears director Marc Forster (MONSTER’S BALL) has opted for the speedy zombies made popular in Danny Boyle’s 28 DAYS LATER. The video below shows hordes of zombies running rampant on the streets of Glasgow, with one unfortunate civilian being attacked, bitten and violently turned within seconds.
The adaptation of Max Brooks’ best-selling novel has drawn controversy online due to the film’s plot changes. Whereas the novel takes place a decade after a zombie apocalypse, the film centres on Brad Pitt’s character attempting to stop an outbreak from spreading. However, a source from the film set (speaking to HMS Friday) downplayed the backlash.
“Ignore all the fanboy chatter over the alleged plot changes from the book, he assured us that from the scenes he took part in and watched this movie will definitely be worth the wait.”
WORLD WAR Z is directed by Marc Forster and stars Brad Pitt. It breaks out into cinemas in January 2013.
