Dano Joins Jackman For ‘Prisoners’

We already know that both Melissa Leo and Jake Gyllenhaal have signed their names onto the Denis Villeneuve-directed PRISONERS, and it just seems to keep attracting more stars! Reports have come in to say that Paul Dano has accepted a role in the crime thriller, which sees Hugh Jackman in the lead role.

Although it’s unclear who Dano and Leo will play, Jackman is set to portray a small-town carpenter-turned-detective, when his young daughter and her friend go missing. As the police fail to find them, Jackman decides to take over the case…that is until he comes face-to-face with a detective (Gyllenhaal) who’s been assigned to find the two girls.

Dano has had a pretty good year so far with both LOOPER and RUBY SPARKS receiving popular reviews, so it’d be good to see him continue on his successful streak. Filming for PRISONERS is scheduled to start early next year, with a predicted release date for next autumn.

Considering Jazmine grew up watching CARRY ON SCREAMING, THE LION KING and JURASSIC PARK on repeat for weeks on end, it made sense for her to study film at London South Bank University. It’s also a good thing that her course requires a lot of sitting down because she’s very accident-prone. When she’s not examining her bruises, she likes pretending that she doesn’t live in Southend-On-Sea and spends hours mindlessly blogging. Favourite films include BLUE VALENTINE, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and TOY STORY 2.
