While the shocking and tragic events in Colarado are making headlines across the globe, Warner Brother are considering their next move. Sadly for Christopher Nolan’s epic Batman conclusion THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, it will be these horrific details that will forever be linked to what should have been an enjoyable experience for film fans. The Paris premiere was cancelled as a mark of respect to those that lost their lives or were injured.
However, it is another Warner Bros film that could suffer due to these tragic events. Ruben Fleisher’s GANGSTER SQUAD looks to be a great film with strong cast, but with the trailer playing before prints of Christopher Nolan’s blockbuster, eerily echoing a scene that transpired earlier that day, a re-edit, re-shoots and/or a delayed release may be on the cards. THN will keep you informed of any changes to the film that stars Ryan Gosling, Josh Brolin and Sean Penn.
Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
