Probably known more for her roles in (not that funny) comedies such as VALENTINE’S DAY, NEW YEAR’S EVE and I NOW PRONOUNCE YOU CHUCK AND LARRY, it’s good to see Jessica Biel trying new things and venturing into the world of the horror thriller. Here is the brand new poster for upcoming THE TALL MAN.
Directed by Pascal Laugier (the man behind 2008’s French horror film MARTYRS), Biel stars as Julia Denning, who lives in an isolated, desolate mining town, with her son David. Well, that is until David is kidnapped by what the neighbours are calling The Tall Man; an eerie creature who lurks the town, stealing children. As every parent would, Biel has to ditch her job as a nurse to search for her son and the other missing kids…before it’s too late.
Personally, I don’t find the poster that threatening (just a good use of PhotoShop). I sometimes find Biel to be a little stiff, but it’d be good to see her in a darker role, even if it sounds like a re-hash of the 2012 British thriller INTRUDERS.
THE TALL MAN, directed by Pascal Laugier, is due for a US release from 31st August 2012. It is currently awaiting a UK release date.

Considering Jazmine grew up watching CARRY ON SCREAMING, THE LION KING and JURASSIC PARK on repeat for weeks on end, it made sense for her to study film at London South Bank University. It’s also a good thing that her course requires a lot of sitting down because she’s very accident-prone. When she’s not examining her bruises, she likes pretending that she doesn’t live in Southend-On-Sea and spends hours mindlessly blogging. Favourite films include BLUE VALENTINE, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and TOY STORY 2.
