Kristen Wiig is hot property right now after co-writing and starring in last year’s hilarious comedy BRIDESMAIDS. The film not only was a huge box-office hit, but it also received award recognition. As too did Nat Faxton and Jim Rash’s screenplay for Alexander Payne’s THE DESCENDANTS garnering the duo an Academy Award in Sunday night’s ceremony.
All three were members of improvisational comedy group ‘The Groundlings’, which makes this latest news of a project together not that surprising. What is surprising is that the project will be an action/comedy, with emphasis said to be on the action. Plot details are unknown at present but it will be an interesting to see Wiig attempt to juggle her natural comic talent with action elements. More details as we get them.
Wiig will next be seen in Jennifer Westfeldt’s FRIENDS WITH KIDS, while Faxon and Rash will make their directorial debut with THE WAY, WAY BACK with Sam Rockwell this summer.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
