Vin Diesel’s third outing as serial-killing anti-hero Richard B. Riddick is soon to begin shooting once again, after grinding to a halt over crew non-payment. Now we finally have news on where the films plot will take us, along with a concept image for a hound-like creature named The Jackal.
I have already written about how much I love director David Twohy’s original movie PITCH BLACK as well as disappointment with the overblown sequel THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK. With that in mind I’m prepared to give Diesel and Twohy another shot with cool-as-hell character which is currently working under the current title of RIDDICK (which is damn sight better than the previous clunky moniker THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK: DEAD MAN STALKING) .
Betrayed by his own kind and left for dead on a desolate planet, Riddick (Diesel) fights for survival against alien predators and becomes more powerful and dangerous than ever before. Soon bounty hunters from throughout the galaxy descend on Riddick only to find themselves pawns in his greater scheme for revenge. With his enemies right where he wants them, Riddick unleashes a vicious attack of vengeance before returning to his home planet of Furya to save it from destruction.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
