It was filmed three years ago but the Weinstein Company bankruptcy meant that Hotel Mumbai has taken longer than planned to be released. But this week it finally arrives, the true story of the horrific events of 2008 when terrorists killed over 100 guests and staff at the Taj Hotel in Mumbai.
Yet one of the film’s stars, Jason Isaacs, never doubted for a moment that the film would find its audience, such was the power of its message about the strength of human nature. As he explains to us that the film is about a terrible act of violence but, at the same time, it shows how people are capable of goodness and courage.
He also looks forward to his next project, the animation Scoob, where he’s the voice of cartoon legend Dick Dastardly. He reveals he’s been “let off the leash” to improvise in the sound booth – but his Dastardly voice is very much under wraps for now!
