More trouble has befallen the production of Seth Grahame-Smith’s twist on the Jane Austen classic PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES with FRIGHT NIGHT helmer Craig Gillespie now the latest director to leave the film. David O. Russell and Mike White have previously been announced to direct then soon we heard both exited the project not long after.
The film is also struggling to find an A-list star interested in the lead role of Elizabeth Bennett. Natalie Portman, Emma Stone and Blake Lively all have been offered the role and all have turned it down. It does not look good for fans wanting to see a big-screen adaptation with the production now in serious doubt.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
