Netflix has released a brand new featurette for their upcoming original series Altered Carbon. The new sci-fi show hits the streaming service from tomorrow. The new featurette is titled ‘The History Of Immortality’ and is an in-depth journey to the backstory of Altered Carbon.
How did we arrive at the future that is depicted in Altered Carbon? It may not be as far-fetched as you might initially think. In fact, the seeds for identity – and mortality – defying technology may already exist today… Narrated by Neil deGrasse Tyson, this documentary will take you to a journey where we are discussing the history of immortality and the redefinition of identity from the eyes of the experts.
Based on the classic cyberpunk noir novel by Richard K. Morgan, Altered Carbon is an intriguing story of murder, love, sex, and betrayal, set more than 300 years in the future. Society has been transformed by new technology: consciousness can be digitized; human bodies are interchangeable; death is no longer permanent.
Take a look at the new featurette below and see the Altered Carbon on Netflix from Friday 2nd February 2018.
