Michelle Williams (Wonderstruck) has joined Tom Hardy in the Venom movie, which is about to start production. Variety reports that the actress will play a district attorney in the forthcoming film, joining the likes of the already cast Riz Ahmed.
Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland, Gangster Squad) is directing for Sony Pictures, though the film will reportedly be not part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Scott Rosenberg (Jumanji) and Jeff Pinkner (The Dark Tower) are writing the screenplay, which revolves around the alien symbiote of Venom, which has been one of “Spider-Man’s” most popular characters.
Michelle Williams will next be seen in the aforementioned Wonderstruck, as well as Ridley Scott’s upcoming All The Money In The World, the trailer for which debuted a couple of weeks ago.
Venom starts shooting this month for a release on October 5th, 2018.
