Jessica Chastain has been linked with the upcoming X-Men movie X-Men: Dark Phoenix for a couple of weeks now, but finally the actress has confirmed her involvement in the sequel. The actress confirmed the news via Instagram.

Chastain joins the already cast James McAvoy, who appears in the photo above, who reprises his role as Charles Xavier/ Professor X, as well as Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Alexandra Shipp (Storm), Tye Sheridan (Cyclops), and Kodi Smit-McPhee (Nightcrawler).
Chastain is playing the role of Lilandra in the movie. According to the official Marvel Wiki, Lilandra is ‘a member of the royal family of the extraterrestrial Shi’ar Empire, Princess-Majestrix Lilandra Neramani was born on the Shi’ar homeworld known as the Aerie. The eldest heir to the Shi’ar throne was Lilandra’s older sister, Cal’syee. However, for her crime of killing her mother and one of her sisters, Cal’syee was denied the throne and exiled into space. Cal’syee’s younger brother D’ken was appointed majestor (emperor) instead.’
Simon Kinberg is directing X-Men: Dark Phoenix, which is already off and shooting in Montreal, Canada.
