Mark Wahlberg is reportedly in talks to replace Ben Affleck in J.C. Chandor’s big Netflix project Triple Frontier. Affleck jumped ship a couple of weeks ago, but with a shoot set for Hawaii in August, a replacement had to be sought and implemented quickly to meet the start date.
If he signs, Wahlberg will join the already cast Charlie Hunnam, Garrett Hedlund and Pedro Pascal in the film, which revolves around notorious border zone between Paraguay, Argentina, and Brazil where the Igazu and Parana rivers converge – a haven for organized crime.
The likes of Johnny Depp, Tom Hanks, Tom Hardy, Channing Tatum, Will Smith and Mahershala Ali have all been associated with the project over various development stages. Mark Boal (Detroit) wrote the screenplay.
As well as Hawaii, the shoot will also take in Columbia over the coming months.
More as we get it.
