Highlander filmmaker Russell Mulcahy is set to direct a biopic about the life of legendary Hollywood leading man Errol Flynn. Variety reports that the film is an action-adventure movie titled In Like Flynn, and it has already started shooting down in Australia.
Thomas Cocquerel will be starring as the young Errol Flynn in the film along with William Moseley, Clive Standen, Callan Mulvey, Isabel Lucas, Nathalie Kelly, David Wenham and Dan Fogler.
Corey Large, Steve Albert, Luke Flynn and Alexander Djamirze wrote the screenplay for the film.
Flynn starred in over 60 movies and TV career before his death in 1959 at the age of just 50.
The trade says that the film follows Flynn as a young man whose magnetism inspires a rag-tag team of friends to set sail on a thrilling adventure in search of elusive New Guinea gold.
“I want to bring Flynn’s unapologetic and uninhibited desire to experience a full adventurous and spectacular life to the screen,” said Mulcahy to Variety. “All while revealing his deeply rooted belief in himself and an ability to survive on charisma and bravado.”
