The film bagged 7 Golden Globes at the weekend, is nominated for a massive 11 BAFTAs, and finally arrives in UK cinemas from today. La La Land, which stars Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, is a phenomenon and is a film that must be seen by absolutely everyone, but thoughts are already turning to the future, and questions regarding the story transferring to the stage.
The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Lionsgate Motion Picture Group co-president Erik Feig has already told investors that the studio eventually may plan a touring stage show based on the Damien Chazelle-directed and scripted film.
“If we want to do a stage show, we can do a stage show.”
A quick newsbite, and I guess the transition is an obvious one, but I reckon it will be some time before anything hits the stage.
We’ll bring you more as we hear it, but please, please, please go see La La Land at your earliest opportunity – it is awesome. Click it here for our review from last year’s Toronto International Film Festival.
