Not content with scaring audiences silly with Insidious one through three, Australian actor, writer and director, Leigh Whanell has announced a fourth, that’s right a fourth Insidious film. Whanell and leading lady Lin Shaye took to Blumhouse Productions’ website to make the announcement.
The first two movies focused on the Lambert family with the third one going in a different direction. Details are, as always, light right now, but what we have learned from the rather cheesy (sorry Leigh and Lin) video is that Whanell will once more write. Whanell is vacating the director’s chair and handing the reins over to Adam Robitel whose film The Taking of Deborah Logan did well on the indie circuit last year. Given that she appears alongside Whanell in the above video it’s likely that Shaye will once again reprise her role as parapsychologist Elise Rainier. Both James Wan and Jason Blum will return as producers.
We also got a release date – well a US one at least, Insidious 4 will land just in time for Halloween next year on 20th October 2017.
