He’s out and abut on the worldwide press tour for Captain America: Civil War, but Robert Downey Jr just spilled the beans on when we may see a third film in one of his other popular franchises, Sherlock Holmes.
According to a recent interview with Shortlist magazine, the actor was asked the state of play with the Sherlock movies, in which he stars with Jude Law.
“We’ll attempt to make one this year,” Downey Jr. said. “When we’re making those Sherlock movies it is off the hook. It really a big deal to go and do those movies. I’m tired all the time, but I’m excited about it.”
Guy Ritchie directed the first two movies, and we don’t see why he wouldn’t return to direct a third. No confirmation on that, but this is interesting nonetheless. Drew Pearce, who penned Iron Man 3, is writing the screenplay for the film, which is based over at Warner Brothers.
More as we get it.
