I actually really liked Ben Affleck as Batman, and look forward to what he’ll bring to future movies as the Caped Crusader. William Morris Endeavor’s co-CEOs Ari Emanuel and Patrick Whitesell have conducted an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, which shed new light on his future Dark Knight commitments, which were very interesting. They asked them how many more times we’d see Affleck in the cape. Patrick Whitesell answered.
“He’s contracted to do at least Justice League One and Two, so at least three times wearing the cape… There’s a script that he’s written that is a really cool [Batman] idea, so that’s out there as an option.”
A stand-alone Batman movie! There’s no mention as to whether he’d direct the proposes film, but it sounds like Affleck’s deal could lead past the big three appearances as Batman. They did ask another question directly after the one above, and that was whether we’d see Affleck’s long-time buddy and collaborator Matt Damon starring alongside him. Whitesell replied:
“(Laughs.) No. I don’t think there’s room for both.”
Now that’s a shame.
