Bad Teacher and Sex Tape director Jake Kasdan is set to direct the planned remake of Jumanji. The film, which will adapt Chris Van Allsburg’s 1985 children’s book, which was turned into a motion picture in 1995 that starred Robin Williams, Bonnie Hunt, Kirsten Dunst, Bradley Pierce, Jonathan Hyde, Bebe Neuwirth, David Alan Grier and Patricia Clarkson, will roll before the cameras very soon, and be distributed through Columbia Pictures.
Con Air scribe Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner will write the screenplay for the planned film, which revolves around a mysterious board game that comes alive.
Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers wrote original drafts, adapted from the source novel.
More news as we get it.
