She wowed in this summer’s big disaster movie San Andreas, and now Alexandra Daddario could be in line to join Zac Efron and Dwayne Johnson, her recent co-star on ‘Andreas’, for the planned Baywatch movie.
The action comedy, which is due to start shooting next year, is housed over at Paramount, with the studio hoping to match some great box-office results with the similarly themed, and styled, 21 Jump Street movies.
Daddario isn’t the only name being mentioned in the same breath as Baywatch though, as six other names are also on the short list. They are: Ashley Benson (Pretty Little Liars, Spring Breakers), Nina Dobrev (The Vampire Diaries, The Perks of Being a Wallflower), Shelley Hennig (Teen Wolf, Unfriended), Bianca Santos (The Duff, Ouija), Alexandra Shipp (Storm in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse) and Denyse Tontz (Big Time Rush, Dog with a Blog).
Deadline also delivered a brief synopsis:
In the film, a hotshot former Olympian butts heads with the leader of an elite team of lifeguards.
Seth Gordon (The King of Kong, Horrible Bosses) will direct the film from a screenplay from Damian Shannon and Mark Swift.
More news on this as it comes in.
