We’ve had a good look at the premier cosplayers in Zack Snyder’s BATMAN v SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE, from the caped crusaders to Wonder Woman to Aquaman. But what about the enemies they’ll be up against? Well, Warner Bros and Entertainment Weekly have now given us our first point blank image of Jesse Eisenberg as the Man Of Steel’s chrome-domed nemesis Lex Luthor…
It’s perhaps not a great surprise that Eisenberg has shaved his head for the role, though this was obviously a topic of debate amongst fans. The character isn’t known for his lustrous locks, though Gene Hackman jumped between scalpy and curly during his time as Luthor in WB’s original franchise.
Snyder also remarked that a new approach will be taken to DC’s nefarious capitalist in line with his unusual casting choice:
He’s not any of the Lexes that you’ve seen, that’s for sure, other than him being a captain of industry and one person to the world and another person to himself. And bald, of course […] Our Lex is disarming and he’s not fake. He says what he believes and he says what’s on his mind. If you can unravel the string and decipher what he means, it’s all there.
The plot reportedly sees Luthor playing a deadly game turning the Dark Knight against the red and blue titan. He should make an intriguing adversary for Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck when the movie hits cinemas in a year’s time.
The epic battle of wits and wonders co-stars Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher, with Jeremy Irons and Holly Hunter.
