We were hearing rumours about this all weekend, but now it seems like those rumours are indeed true. Guy Pearce, he who we last saw in THE KING’S SPEECH, has officially joined the cast of Ridley Scott’s in-production PROMETHEUS. Pearce will join Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Sean Harris, Kate Dickie, Rafe Spall and Logan Marshall-Green in the ALIEN-esque film, which is currently going before cameras on sound stages in London.
The rumours of Pearce’s casting originated from the almighty CHUD website.
The film started out as a prequel to ALIEN, and although it apparently now it isn’t, it does take place in the same world as the horror classic.
No idea as to who Pearce is playing in film, but we’ll keep you updated.
This is how the rumour of the casting started over at CHUD:
“Evening Nick, my mate is working on Prometheus as OMITTED and met Guy Pierce on set today. She’s previously worked on OMITTED, OMITTED and OMITTED and I’ve no reason to believe she’s lying. I’ve not read anywhere about Guy being cast so thought it might interest you.“
