We brought you the first official images of INTO THE WOODS yesterday, but Disney decided to up themselves and release a full trailer as well!
While it has no singing in the trailer, we do get the feel and direction that Rob Marshall is going for. In the trailer we also get a good look at Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, James Corden, Anna Kendrick and Chris Pine in action but going with the theme of the images from yesterday, only a tease look at Johnny Depp as The Wolf (boo!)
INTO THE WOODS, adapted from the musical of the same name by James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim, follows the stories of popular Brother’s Grimm characters like Cinderella (Kendrick), Little Red Riding Hood (Lilla Crawford), Jack and the Beanstalk (Daniel Huttlestone), and Rapunzel (MacKenzie Mauzy)— all tied together by an original story involving a baker and his wife (Corden & Blunt), their wish to begin a family and their interaction with the witch (Streep) who has put a curse on them. It is set to be released Christmas Day 2014 in the US and 9th January 2015 in the UK.
Watch the trailer below, and let us know what you think!
