The MTV Movie Awards wasn’t just a place for awesome TV Spots to be premiered during the commercials. It was also a place to show off exclusive clips, such as this impressive opening battle from X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. The upcoming franchise topper unites the previous X-Trilogy along with the amazing X-MEN: FIRST CLASS through the use of time travel plotting, as well as bringing back X-MEN and X2 directors Bryan Singer.
The plot sees Wolverine travelling back in time to unite Magneto (Michael Fassbender) and Professor X (James McAvoy) in order to prevent a dark future timeline in which mutants are hunted by giant robots known as Sentinels. This opening battle looks incredibly epic and shows the increased power of such classic heroes as Iceman and Shadowcat, while also introducing new mutants too. If this is any indication as to how great the action sequences will be, the I say we’re in for a real treat.
X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST is set for release 22nd May in the UK and 23rd May in the US. It will star James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Peter Dinklage, Shawn Ashmore, Ellen Page, Daniel Cudmore, Fan Bingbing, Booboo Stewart, Omar Sy, Evan Peters, Lucas Till, and Ian McKellen.
