Here’s the UK trailer for independent American revenge thriller, BLUE RUIN. The film follows Dwight (Macon Blair), who returns to his hometown in order to carry out revenge, but to what end? The trailer is a beautifully paced attention grabber, focusing more on the calm voice of a local police officer and merely hinting at the violence to come. This truly seems to be the calm before the storm, and as some of the quotes suggest, this has been a very well received little thriller.
Arriving from the mind of director Jeremy Saulnier, who gave us the rather bizarre but funny horror MURDER PARTY, BLUE RUIN is looking to be a very serious entry into the long list of revenge films. Saulnier has mostly worked as a cinematographer and it shows in the beautifully grim look of BLUE RUIN.
BLUE RUIN is released in the UK on 2nd May and in the US on 25th April. It stars Macon Blair, Devin Ratray, Amy Hargreaves, Kevin Kolack, and Eve Plumb.
