Magnolia have picked up the rights to the break-out British comedy hit ALAN PARTRIDGE: ALPHA PAPA. The popular British movie starring Steve Coogan, which is now playing in cinemas across the UK, will hit US and Canadian cinemas in early 2014, according to Screen Daily.
It will receive its North American premiere at the 2013 New York Film Festival.
The movie, which revolves around the character of local DJ Alan Partridge (Coogan), who has to negotiate with a former work colleague during a siege when his station changes owners, has garnered both critical and commercial success on these shores, and is sure to do well as an export too.
