Howard J Ford has been directing movies for many years. His 2010 film The Dead caught audiences’ attention, and since then Ford has been steadily carving out a career within the horror / thriller arenas. Once a director who was content to make a film every couple of years or so, since the Covid-19 pandemic he’s made at least one film per year. Now though, Howard J Ford is about to unleash not one, but two films, into the world in rapid succession. The first, Escape, is an action packed chase driven thriller in which a group of women fight back against the traffickers that have abducted them. The second, DarkGame, finds a detective in a bitter game of wills with a shadowy organisation transmitting videos on torture on the dark web under the guise of entertainment.
Both Escape and DarkGame will arrive on digital in the near future, Escape is available to watch from 30th September, with DarkGame following around a month after on 21st October. If releasing two feature films within a month of each other wasn’t enough work, Ford is already underway on post production on his next film, River of Blood. Despite the director clearly being exceptionally busy, he was thankfully free long enough to speak with THN about both Escape and DarkGame. With the two films being very different from one another, we spoke of the importance of keeping things fresh, the cautionary tales that both Escape and DarkGame warn about, and exactly how it feels to be juggling two films at once. You can watch our in-depth chat with Howard J Ford in the video below:
Escape is available to own or rent on digital download from 30th September 2024 from all main platforms. DarkGame will be available to own or rent on digital download from 21st October 2024.
