Gareth Edwards’ ‘Jurassic World’ film to kick off shooting on 31st July?

We all welcomed the news of Gareth Edwards’ hiring to direct a new film in the Jurassic World series this past week, and now it looks like we might know when he will physically step behind the camera to start shooting it.

A new post on the Film & Television Industrial Alliance states that the film will kick off production on 31st July – a little way off but well ahead of its summer 2025 release date already set out by Universal Pictures.

The film is listed as simply ‘Jurassic World 4’ – we are far from a title reveal, of course – but confirms that the movie will be written by original Jurassic Park and The Lost World: Jurassic Park scribe David Koepp.

The fourth film in the current series of films which kicked off with the 2015 action-adventure Jurassic World will kick off a new era of dino movies.

A new cast is expected with none of the legacy or previous trilogies’ characters set to return.

The film’s release in 2025 – specifically July 2nd, 2025, will tie in with the tenth anniversary of the Colin Trevorrow movie’s release date.

More as it comes in.
