There’s going to be a brand new Karate Kid film and it will bring together the stars of the original ’80s movie as well as the more recently release redo, Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan.
Macchio will play the role of Daniel in the new one, with Chan reprising his role as Mr. Han. What’s more, the duo are on the lookout for a new star, the next Karate Kid, if you will, and they’ve released a video with more details.
Rob Lieber wrote the screenplay for the new movie which will follow a Chinese-born teenager now living in the US.
Jonathan Entwistle is directing the new film which is aiming for an early 2024 shooting start with a December 13th 2024 release.
So, not long to wait, then. This will arrive shortly after the very final season of Cobra Kai, the Netflix Karate Kid spin-off which is also heading for a late 2024 debut on the streamer.
