A new Peacock-bound TV series Twisted Metal starring Anthony Mackie has been released online. The series is based on the classic PlayStation game series of the same name and is described by the broadcaster as a high-octane action comedy, based on an original take by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick and written by Michael Jonathan Smith,.
Twisted Metal is about a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With the help of a badass axe-wielding car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck.
I remember this game and absolutely loved playing it back in the day. Stephanie Beatriz, Thomas Haden Church, Will Arnett, Richard Cabral and Samoa Joe round out the main cast of the show which starts to air at the end of July stateside. News of a UK pick-up coming as soon as we get it.
