This is some huge news for fans of Star Wars, and indeed Peaky Blinders. Steven Knight, creator of ‘Blinders’ and writer of films like Spencer, Allied and Serenity, is reportedly set to pen the next Star Wars feature film, so reports Variety.
We’re apparently going to be told about Lucasfilm’s Star Wars feature film plans at this April’s Star Wars Celebration in London. The event, which brings together Star Wars fans and creators, will this year be taking place in London.
The film that Knight will reportedly take over writing duties on is the one that Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy is directing and also the very one that screenwriters Damon Lindelof and Justin Britt-Gibson departed.
Knight is a prolific British screenwriter and filmmaker – a very good one, at that – who also enjoyed success with TV series SAS Rogue Heroes, the film Locke (which he also directed), and other TV series like Taboo and Great Expectations, which airs on the BBC this week.
