Maika Monroe has reportedly joined the cast of Nicolas Cage-led horror movie Longlegs. The film is directed and written by Osgood “Oz” Perkin and will be launched officially at this year’s European Film Market in Berlin, the sales market that runs alongside the prestigious Berlinale, so reports Variety.
The trade says that Monroe will star as FBI Agent Lee Harker, ‘a gifted new recruit assigned to the unsolved case of an elusive serial killer (Cage). As the case takes complex turns, unearthing evidence of the occult, Harker discovers a personal connection to the merciless killer and must race against time to stop him before he claims the lives of another innocent family.’
Monroe was last seen in the brilliant Sundance-premiering Watcher (pictured above), and has also starred in the likes of It Follows, and The Guest, two other great genre movies. Cage is also going through a bit of a renaissance with The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent, Pig and the upcoming Reinfeld among his latest credits.
