Rapper Coolio has passed away at the age of 59

Rapper Coolio has sadly passed away at the age of just 59. The hip-hop icon was found unconscious in the bathroom at a friend’s house on Wednesday afternoon. TMZ reports that the cause of death is cardiac arrest.

Coolio, born Artis Leon Ivey Jr., is perhaps best known for his 1990s hit Gangsta’s Paradise, which was taken from the soundtrack for the hit Michelle Pfeiffer movie, Dangerous Minds. He won a Grammy for the track which has one of the most iconic music videos of the time.

He also had a number of screen credits that include Daredevil, Get Over It and Joey.
